Product Analyst Senior [Portfolio Analytics]

At Plata, we are launching a new product in the Mexican market and building our analytics team from the ground up. We’re looking for a Senior Product Analyst who will own portfolio analytics and help shape strategy, pricing, and growth. This is a chance to join early, work closely with product leadership, and directly influence how the business evolves.

Challenges that await you:

• Take full ownership of portfolio analytics: build a reporting system for a new customer segment, calculate P&L, deposit yields, fee income, and account balances

• Define pricing and interest rate strategies, assess the financial impact of different scenarios

• Analyze customer acquisition and behavior: who joins, how much they generate through products, changes in retention and LTV

• Design and interpret A/B tests in portfolio and onboarding flows, ensuring statistically sound conclusions with limited data

• Work with data marts (cards, accounts, users), propose improvements and new metrics

• Support product teams in launching new services for customers and validating business hypotheses

• Contribute to required reporting for the regulator

• Help build the analytics infrastructure from scratch: DBT/Airflow pipelines, Tableau/Superset dashboards

What makes you a great fit:

• 3+ years of experience as a Data or Product Analyst, preferably in fintech or big tech

• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python; experience with DBT/Airflow or similar tools is a plus

• Experience in building analytics and metrics from scratch, including event tracking

• Solid knowledge of mathematical statistics, probability, and A/B testing methodology (design and interpretation)

• Ability to forecast, calculate costs, and build financial/business models

• Proficiency with BI tools (Tableau, Superset, Power BI, or similar)

• Strong analytical mindset, systematic thinking, and ability to visualize data and drive actionable conclusions

• Strong academic background (top universities are a big advantage)

• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business objectives into analytical tasks

• English proficiency (B1+), comfortable working in an international team

• Willingness to relocate to Mexico
